Darfur
The region of Darfur in western Sudan is the scene of genocide, and it has also been the site of ethnic cleansing. In Darfur a violent campaign to displace targeted peoples of Darfur quickly escalated to genocide. The violence and ethnic cleansing has also spread west across the border of Sudan into Chad. Despite years of pleas and news coverage the world has yet to take any effective action.
